Not sure I like it, either. Maybe if it was 60 tiles, where you'd have used up the 48 you started with, but have had to hang around a bit. I kind of liked coming in late and being able to do some damage. It was a nice difference from the other boards.
Anyway, Krulle and Fiver, what you're saying isn't really any different from trying to keep your competition from 41 or 81 or whatever tiles so that you can catch up. It's just another strategy.
And similarly to what Fiver was saying, when you get ahead on that board, you end up pretty distantly ahead before too long, anyway, so you have doubly the advantage over any new players by virtue of having not only a higher rate of added moves, but also the double-click thing.
